I’ve just purchased my first Mikrotik device (CRS109-8G-1S-2HnD-IN) and I’m having trouble seeing the attached USB flash drives via the OTG cable. I’ve tried with 3 different USB drives and none of them show up in
/disk print
nor in WebFig. Even tried
/system routerboard usb set usb-mode=force-host
and still no luck.
One thing I saw that after connecting the flash drive, the LED from the drive lights up for 2 seconds and then it goes off.
I’m running the latest current release (6.37.1).
Any clues on what may be the issue?
I’m having a similar issue and currently it seems that all USB 2.0 flash drives that I have are working great, but any of the USB 3.0 drives are not recognized anywhere, including ‘system resource usb print’. I’ve also tried automatic and force-host modes.
Reformatted the all the disks in virtually every possible way but still no luck.
Working:
4 different USB2.0 drives from sizes 4GB to 8GB
Not working:
2 different models (and two of each model) USB3.0 drives. Sizes 16GB and 128GB
So it’s probably either USB2.0/USB3.0 or drive size that’s currently limiting. But I have RB3011, which should have USB3.0 support.
Apparently, rebooting the router with the USB flash connected solved the issue. After it came up again, I could see anf format the device. I guess it doesn’t have hotplug capabilities.
