Strange Winbox Ping Problem

We have a Mikrotik Router handling all of the que management on our network that is directly connected to a chain or radios that terminates at our gateway. The computer is running Router OS 2.9.29 (just as a point of reference) Some time ago (not sure exactly when) we lost that ability to ping anything beyond this server (anythin gin the radio chain leading to the gate and the gate itself) from the winbox interface of any router on the interior of our network. Everything up to and including the que server responds but everythig on the other side appears dead. The REALLY odd thing is we CAN ping everything on the other side from a DOS prompt on a connected computer… is there a setting that I am somehow missing that would explain this? As I said the problem seemed to just suddenly appear. I do not think network performance it being affected but I am wondering if this is symptomatic of something that could be causing problems. Thanks!

If you have really not changed any configurations of the MikroTik or the other devices (like default gateways perhaps) then a simple reboot maybe all you need. Otherwise check your routing settings.

Thanks for the quick response.. when you mentioned that I should check the routing a light came on… We put a long list of forwarding rules in place to control internal access to the gate but we did not add the IP’s of the actual routers on our network to the accept list… thus the final DROP ALL OTHERS rule salmmed the door in their face. Thanks for leading me down the right track!
