Supporting older B-only and newer Win8 machines at same time

Are there known-good settings for 5.22 (RB2011UAS-2HnD-IN) that support both older XP b-only clients and newer win8 clients simultaneously? When the band is set to B/G/N, the win xp b-only machines won’t stay connected (logs show constant connects/disconnects). When set to B/G, the win8 machines connect but aren’t able to access the network.

Currently we’re set to B/G/N (20/40Mhz HT Below as mentioned elsewhere in the forum), but I’d like to know if other people have found working settings that allow older b-only systems and newer systems to connect at the same time to the mikrotik.

There is nothing in Windows 8 that prevents using B/G mode.

There is nothing in Windows XP that prevents a b-only client from working on b/g/n mode.
