Nevermind. I had not seen the RB3011 block diagram before. I thought it was still 1x 1Gb link per switch.

So basically, change 1 switch chip, release a relatively inexpensive Thunderbolt<->2.5GBase-T adapter, and voilà, full 2000/200 broadband on your laptop via DOCSIS 3.1

Or USB 3.0 for other people.

Or even ExpressCard/34

And of course, USB-C for the hipsters.
