What I’ve read from the forum search is “can’t do it”
as torch only captures traffic going through the CPU.

This is kinda dumb; I just want it to work and if it takes a performance hit running torch, I’m OK with that. Torch is a very important tool. Yet switch chips are a very important performance upgrade. I don’t feel comfortable remotely reconfiguring the routerboard as a bridge rather than switch; it could take me a day to get on site if it screws up.

Is there a way to mirror traffic from a switch port to something that can be torched? I’m using rb2011’s and CRS switches.

I would like to have this feature also. With it I may to use switching instead bridging on many of my devices.

Take a look at the port mirroring features and instructions:

http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Switch_Chip_Features

Should allow you to mirror whole port to see whats happening.

Thanks Neilson; I was able to mirror the master port to a cpu port and view the master port (thus everything on switch) in torch, but it didn’t work for me to mirror an individual port to the CPU. Better than nothing but still room for improvement.

You can always torch master port as it is connected to cpu. Otherwise it could not act as master port.
