SXT LTE No WAN IP address after software upgrade

Hi All

I have installed a number of both SXT LTE and SXT LTE KIT (the newer 2 sim/lan port model). On the older SXT LTE 3-7 we have been getting some drop outs in connection and looking at the release notes there is a bug fix for this problem, I have had found that following upgrading the software to the latest revision 6.43.2 we loose the LTE connection (EE) and although the units connect to the network it fails to obtain an IP address from EE.
I have tried resetting the units to default and re-configuring them but the only way to get them working again is to downgrade to an earlier version.

The newer units SXT LTE KIT do not seem to be effected.

Is anyone else seeing this or found a solution?

Thanks in advance.

which RouterOS version you were using before when it was working?

It was 6.40.7 before the update.

Today had another call from the customer with drop in connection. They also have another 4G/LTE Router & antenna on site that is working flawlessly compared to the SXT LTE.

Pretty sure I am seeing the same issue.

SXT LTE on latest firmware - LTE connects - but no IP and no Session Uptime stats available and status marked as minimum. (connecting to EE)

Also tried on latest testing firmware - same.

For some reason downgrade on this box doesnt behave at all - no LTE interface, dropping off the network etc … so cant seem to remotely roll it back :frowning:

Anyone found a fix ?

Went to site today and replace the unit, same location.. Same SIM, no IP.

I tested the Sim in a different make of modem/router and it functions fine tried another sxt lte with new sofrware and it does the same conects but no wan ip address. Downgrade the software and it works but with disconnections everyday

Just tried again with the latest V6.43.4 still no WAN IP Address from LTE provider, downgraded it back and it works but needs rebooting regularly.

Did you get anywhere with this I have the same issue - sxt lte with EE card no wan ip address. I have an EE box put sim in there works fine and connects with wan ip.
is there a software or band issue ?

I upgraded 2 clients this week, but failed to get up post upgrade so I had to roll back.

Have now opened a case with support as this is defo some issue introduced with the latest version…

just an update from me, removed unit, downgraded software to 6.42.9 and the unit fired straight back in connected with wan ip. has been on for two hours no issue as yet

Ticket#2018102522007505 now open on this.

Support have asked for me to produce more suppout files when the issue exists … sadly i dont have many customers happy to let me go break their setup, even temp !!

Can anyone else who is having the problem please somehow share with me / support the suppout files to try to help 1. get this acknowledged as a bug 2. fixed !

Thanks

I had the same request. Sadly also unable to leave a machine running at customers. Having to replace with the newer SXT LTE KIT.

I may get it setup in the workshop as we have two more reports now…

You must have really nice customers ! Mine are not interested in paying for a fix … of course I am assuming your customers are paying and its not you taking the hit.

Eitherway … bug and it needs fixing Mikrotik.

any answer to this as still find upgrading losses the wan ip address-

I’m told via the ticket:

“unfortunately we need more data to work with. This is somehow related to operator and modem compatibility and we can’t reproduce anything like this locally.
Maybe you have some spare units in your office to reproduce this?”

Sadly I dont have more spare units (or sims) to test.

Is everyone else with the issue UK based and only seeing the problem with EE or are there other countries / providers having the same issue.

There is a script around that checks the lte interface every 15 mins and if not detected reboots the lte interface. If this does not return after x attempts the system reboots.

What distributir did you use

All my kit comes from LinITX.

Be keen to see that script !

Call them

Latest change log quotes that it fixes DHCP IP issues with LTE interface.

It doesn’t - or certainly not on the units i’ve tested.
