The SOCKS5 function does not support UDP proxy, does not support servers in domain name format, and remarks do not take effect.
SOCKS (Socket Secure) is a proxy server that allows
TCP-based application
data to relay across the firewall,
@niaochen It’s a SOCKS4 not SOCKS5 or SOCKS5h.
The newly released Socksify feature in version 7.20, located at /ip/socksify.
And why didn't you immediately call him by his name?
Obviously, if you're talking about pears, is not talking about apples...
There was an error in the translation; my native language is not English.
Is this option for version 5 recently added? I can swear I didn't noticed before (not sure which ROS version was when checked). Also this option is not mentioned in SOCKS server help where is also stated “SOCKS (Socket Secure) is a proxy server that allows TCP-based application data to relay”, so it has to be some recent feature because version 5 should support UDP.
Socksify nat doesn’t support UDP as confirmed by others, see Socksify udp dns problem - #6 by cyrq
On 6.48.7 (the screenshot) is already present.
I guess I missed it then, using ROS from v7. Still MT documentation needs to be updated regarding config properties. If is true, as stated in doc., that TCP is only supported then why they even added version 5, main benefit for using version 5 is UDP support, or it is just outdated documentation regarding that also.
