Hi dear friends and teachers;
I’ve got a radio base box2 with dual chanel card and power is 1W
An antenna connected to this radio AirMax 2G13 I was actually 13DB
Now friends, my question is that to get maximum wireless range, the TX Power and Antena Gain on what number do I set up?
I appreciate tips here
With special thanks
Set gain to real or slightly lower value to make up for connector losses and stay within power regulation limits.
Resist the temptation of setting it to maximum power; this only affect Tx, and the problem is on the station side: laptops, and specially mobile devices are limited in Tx power, so the best approach is maximizing (to a point) AP Rx capabilities by choosing the right antenna.
Typical error: setting it to the max, then wondering why although signal level on stations is high, performance is poor… the reason: you need good connectivity in both ways: stations need also to be “heard” by the AP. Once the AP has trouble communicating with just one station, the whole AP performance will go south.
I assume you’re trying to cover a big outdoors area, the tip: start by ditching the AirMax 2G13. You don’t want Omni antennas. To maximize coverage and performance, use sector antennas.
Thank you very much for your help
