UPS issues original APC smart ups 1500

Recently upgraded an old Cisco router to Mikrotik 1100AHx2 and due to other upgrades realised I had no way to monitor the UPS anymore. Was hoping to use the MT to watch the UPS and when on battery send a sign (email/http post etc) to some script / software I will write to shut the hosts down. Anyway MT does connect to the UPS (its over serial by the way, and MT is running 5.26) but I get a red exclamation mark to the left of it on the system>ups screen (this is in winbox) but other than that all seems well, can see voltages and UPS info.

The problem is this, if power fails, UPS takes the load, but MT shuts down immediately. If I play with the runtime / offline time timers setting them to anything except 5 mins results in MT shutting down immediately on power fail. If I set to 5 mins the MT counts down, and I guess would shut down at zero, and I get nice log entries to say on battery, and then on mains again when UPS is back live.

What I want it to do, is to leave the UPS (and MT running) until battery low. There is approx 33mins of runtime, but the MT will never get there!
If I set the runtime / offline to zero (as suggested in help) the MT should sit and wait, but it doesn’t, it immediately shuts down.

Anyone else seeing this issue? Maybe a bug in 5.26?

any help appreciated!

Anyone help with this? I am the only one to encounter this issue? The Smart-ups units are fairly bog standard, so surprised I am having issues, any body got any pointers or anything I can follow to resolve? I am tempted to downgrade to 5.25 but can’t seem to find the UPS file for 5.25 is there a repository somewhere?

Thanks

Got the same issue with ups package v.6.10 - immediate shutdown after power loss when option offline = 0. Mikrotik experts please solve!

My hardware - routerboard 950G fw. 6.10, APC SmartUPS sua750i via USB hub

recently installed ROS V6.15 and this is fixed. I think the issue was with Winbox though setting the wrong value for 0 / never
