(URGENT) our ISP gateway is down after upgrade

hi guys,

we’ve just upgraded from 2.9.51 to 3.11 and our ISP goes totally down and the x86 main gateway totally, halts.

keyboard/ monitor shows nothing and does nothing.

we can’t mif support files.

after manually hard reseting the device it starts to work but stops after a while again.

this was for last 24 hours.

now even the hotspot is dead and the proxy server doesn’t work and our users will be redirected to hotspot page.

anyone know how can I safely downgrade to 2.9.51?

Thanks

you can simply reinstall with 2.9.51 and mark “keep old configuration”. hope you have some backup files

ok one hint on the console is this error:

“system critical error, reboot due to kernel failure” or something like this I quickly saw on console

any idea?

could be that a changed driver is causing a crash, and watchdog reboots it

I’ve downgraded to 3.7,
at least the hotspot is back now but not sure whether it will halt again.

if I backup settings using export file=backup

and format to 3.7 again, will it be better?
I’ve noticed our userman log is huge however I don’t want loose our logs since it’s a good user record but it seems usermanager doesn’t handle logs for a year in proper way and also openning log page will put the system unresponsive for a long time.

thanks for the reply.

Thanks for reply

very odd thing is that creating supout.rif file has taken so long and it doesn’t finish even after downgrade to 3.7

i’m not sure how to find out if it’s a driver issue.

very funny thing is still 3.11 after another reboot.

I don’t know how it came back or whether it was downgraded at all

Hellbound, Have you Had any success with a your 3.11 box?

I have a new 3.11 x86 box i put in running Multiple hotspots that i cant seem to make stay up.
I was going to try downgrading it to 2.9.51 today in to get it to stop crashing.
At times it only stays up for a few hours before having to reboot.
