v3.0rc2 - AP hangs up after some days

hi,

I use a rb500 (fw 2.6) as 2.4 GHz ap bridge with v3.0rc2 with following packages installed:
0 system
1 routing
2 ntp
3 advanced-tools
4 calea
5 wireless
6 routerboard
7 security

Everything works fine but after some days it hangs up without any reason. This message is shown if you want to login:

MikroTik v3.0rc2
could not receive confirmation to CTRL_READY from loader
died with signal 6 on Wed Aug 22 06:12:53 2007

v3.0beta9 works more stable (didn’t hung up anyway) but scripting doesn’t work like it should do, so it is not useful for me.

are there any suggestions about that?

regards
chris

scripting has changed a bit, please recheck your scripts (that what was running on 2.9 might not run in 3.0)

but my script works with v3.0rc2, it also worked with v3.0beta6 but with beta9 it doesn’t work → here’s what maris wrote back:

Hello,
Yes, this is a known bug, because of new variable system. It is already fixed in 3.0 beta10.

Maris

beta9 had this fix in changelog:

*) fixed bug - bridging with bandwidth shaping could freeze whole

system;

but beta10 and the release candidates hang up after some time (same behavior as beta6 and 7 had), beta9 is the only stable working release of 3.0.

rc2 is considered more stable than any other 3.0 version above - please use latest

and if rc2 gangs, it would be nice if you created supout rif, and described what router is doing before hangup

I did that before I have posted in forum

Today I got an answer from Maris

Hello,

I was unable to reproduce issue you have.
Try to reinstall RouterOS with netinstall and see if it helps.

Regards,
Maris

I’ll try that an report later

then try to make steps how to reproduce the problem, what exactly after what time this happens

syn flop

SYN FLOP ?

Could you describe more what’s SYN FLOP ?
And why this “SYN FLOP” could make RouterOs 3.0RC2 hangs ?

Thank’s
