Hi,
try to uninstall/install MS VC++ runtime 2010 or 2013 , see what happens
I tried but not good! Do you have another soutions? Thank You!
it could be be a bug or incompatibility with your OS , contact support
I am having this same issue. Two of my PC’s will now not run the dude client. All machines are window 10 pro.
I just did a clean install on my main desktop, and I am still getting this error. Only with the dude, no other programs are causing this issue.
I have downloaded and installed all the runtime libs to no avail. This is a very frustrating issue.
UPDATE: It appears that this issue may have something to do with windows update KB3140743 or KB3139907. Unfortunately KB3139907 cannot be uninstalled to confirm this. However, only my machines that do not have KB3139907 installed will run the client.
Well this error seems to have been caused by windows update. After a recent windows update, all my dude clients have started working again.
Very odd.
I had the same problem.
Solved by disabling all non windows services.
msconfig/services - Hide all Microsoft services and disable all left.
I always have the same problem on 8 pcs different operating systems .
I disabled the services
And uninstalled packages
without solving
Looks like in at least one case the problem was solved by setting dude.exe to run in win8 compatibility mode.
Didnt work for me atleast! ![]()
And now a second PC has succumbed to this annoying problem! Grrr
This is my office backup PC with Windows7, has worked like a charm on this PC for years!
This PC basically is running 24/7, BECAUSE it is supposed to make DUDE accessible from my phone when I am out working.
Did DUDE Client code change recently in any way that could do this,
Or is it just Microsoft Windows pushing out shit breaking updates again?
This PC might have autoupdated, cause I had to log in to it today when I came to the office, so I still suspect Windows update!
Cheers
We are also having this problem on Windows 8.1 & 10. One WIn8 machine works fine and the other doesn’t. Tried on 4 different Win10 machines. None worked initially, but I was able to get one of them to work after removing a few other programs. I thought the problem program was Wireshark, but one of the other laptops that doesn’t work has never had Wireshark installed. Haven’t had time to troubleshoot in depth yet.
Todd
I guess Windows update is messing something up!
On my second PC The DUDE stopped working after an automatic update.
I have no auto update on the PCs still working!
Has any1 asked / posted anything on Windows/Microsoft support yet?
We will also look into this as soon as we actually catch one of our windows workstations doing this. So far no luck.
Hi,
Does 6.36 release solve the Runtime C++ problem discussed here?
It is really annoying, and I havent dared to upgrade my 2 last Windows PCs in fear I will loose all my DUDE Clients. Then I will be “Blind”!
I am also really unsure if I gonna dare upgrade my main dude client PC to Win10 before the offer expires end of July, cause I really can not afford loosing my DUDE client just because of a free Win10 Update! ;D lol
I Still have this problem on PCs that I installed updates on before I upgraded to Win10.
I have now tried Dude v 6.35.4.
Have also tried uninstalling all Runtime C++ on PC, and Uninstalling DUDE,
Downloaded latest Runtime C++ and installed it, reinstalled DUDE 6.35.4 , but still get the same annoying error message!
HELP! I need dude-client to work on ALL my work PCs!
PS.
I have also upgraded some PCs to Win10 where I for a long time didnt install updates, cause I was afraid of this problem.
On these PCs Dude client works perfectly fine!
In order to fix Visual C++ Runtime Error you should apply the below-given steps:

Type into the Run prompt: appwiz.cpl.
Press Enter.
Find all installations relating to the Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime and uninstall them one by one.
Download and re-install the previously removed runtime libraries.
