Hello,
as stated in the subject of the message, my problem involves the set up of a VPN without static IP, but only dynamic IP addresses generated by ISP.
The topology of my network is very similar to the one shown in the WireGuard page of the RouterOS manual: private networks (two or more) each one linked by a MikroTik router which has access to the public network (I chose WireGuard as my VPN method).
Having dynamic public IP addresses, I can not set the endpoint-address fields of the WireGuard configuration.
Is there a way to solve or bypass this problem?
I think this is a common problem to many people, maybe I’m missing some information.
Thank you very much,
Gianluca
MOre importantly, is it
a. a public IP that gets to your router??
If not it then gets to the upstream ISP router?
If so then
b. can you forward ports on the ISP router to your Mikrotik router.
Mikrotik device has a dyndns service IP cloud built in, so you can use that or a free dyndnu address on the net.
So endpoint address becomes homeip.net or something like that whatever your dyndns URL is.

Thanks so much for the reply.
I (will) have a “Chateau 5G R16” router; ISP may vary…
I did not understand very well what do you mean by b.)
Meanwhile I made another post on DDNS, like you suggesed, so I will be use it. Have you ever used it, specifically the Mikrokit built in service?
I use it, many do. If your a business, then you should have a backup plan or use the MT one as a backup and use a paid service.
I have also used free one, many out there, with no issue.
