Hi!
We have been using Mikrotik 60G AP’s. We have PtP links with clear line of sight, distance ~5-100m. Now we would like to study the following case: The devices that carry the AP’s are moving around. So, the AP links should change over time. For example we have ten 60 GHz wAPs, AP1, AP2, AP3, AP4, … AP9, and AP10, which are located in the fixed poles and and two APs, APv1 and APv2 are on the roof of the car, which is moving around the route. At the beginning of the measurement, at time t0, APv1 sees AP1, and APv2 sees AP2. At time t1, APv1 sees AP2 and APv2 sees AP3. At time t2, APv1 sees AP3 and APv2 sees AP4. At time t3, APv1 sees AP4 and APv2 sees AP5 and so on… It seems that we have handover problem, when the link connection change to the new link connection, for example the link connection, APv1 to AP1, changes to the new link connection, APv1 to AP2. It seems that MikroTik wAP 60G does not have any handover controller. Has anybody studied this kind of a problem and has found a solution to this problem?
We would like to also study localization of the moving vehicle by using AP’s tx-sector information and also maybe using AP’s distance information. We still have many open questions in our study: handover problem, beam alignment problem. Has anybody experiences of the localization with APs?
