What is the limit on WDS devices? Example image attached… I remember that I could only have 6 to 1 back in the days with ubiquiti. Now am going to use Groove 52hp with the 2.4 ghz 6dbi antenas for the clients and 5ghz for backhaul 16dbi stx and the omnitik at home base… What is the recommended limit using WDS on a network. What are the drawbacks? There will be quite a few traffic on this network.
We usually try and limit to around 4 , but have sites working very well with 7 units, all static-wds (no dynamic) and results are what we in the trade call excellent.
We have at least 150 sites with a minimum of the 4 wds repeaters off a single groove.
Thanks all of you for the answers. I read a little more and all are talking about station wds. I will use WDS Relay.. Also on this link is exactly what am going to do.. But in this link it says that you halve the bandwidth after the first hop… So is there three hops from the client on this example? Or is just one from main to repeater? Can you explain please.
