wds?

hi ,

can anyone tell me IN WDS what is diff. between static and dynamic.

it will affect on performance or not?

the difference is obvious, one creates itself, the other you need to make by hand (add all mac addresses). there are pros and cons to each.

thank u normis.

What are the pros and cons of each, AND can someone explain the WDS cost for us?

Adam

it’s obvious really …

static:

  • you can control what devices you want to be in the WDS setup
  • you don’t have the IP address problem (see dynamic)
  • you have to add a lot of devices by hand

dynamic:

  • created “on the fly” and saves time
  • very easy to configure
  • less control over the setup
  • if the wireless link goes down, the IP address drops off the dynamic interface

i m connecting 2 AP using WDS static.its working fine.i have one question

is it possible to connect client (station mode) to AP or not?if it possible then how can i connect?

i m trying to connect like this: but i can’t
AP----->wireless interface------>access list----->MAC add of client(station mode)

plz plz some one help me .

thanx in advance.

Yup..
here i used ap2ap than set station on ‘access-list’ is working
simple mean i have divices on ‘access-list’ when it as station and ‘connect-list’ as static-wds will connect to my roam. … nice
