I just bought a RB951G-2HnD and set it up. When I transferred a 2GB file from my Macbook air to a Macbook Pro, the peak speed is only 4 Mb/s. Most time it was only 3.2 Mb/s. I think it’s too slow, but why?

4MB/s from Macbook air + 4MB/s to Macbook Pro = 8MB/s or 64mbps, is more than enough for an 130mbps connection.. You need to connect to more than 144mbps. Maybe 300mbps. Check google for Macbook wireless problems.
Have you enabled both chains and 40MHz channelwidth of the wifi interface in de Routerboard?
Thanks. But I don’t really understand what you said… did you mean this is a problem of macbook? When I used the router provided by the ISP the transferring speed is much faster…
Thanks. Here are the settings:

This problem drives me crazy now… I just removed RB951G and used the modem router directly to test. Here is the result:

If I connect RB951G to the modem and use it as router:

RB951G connects to modem through a 100 Mbit/s LAN port. So it won’t get higher than 100 Mb/s. But 17.02 Mb/s is way too slow…
Upgrade to 5.25.
Then set - hw retries 15, Distance-indoors, try reduce Tx power
I’ve upgraded to 6.0. Should I downgrade…?
I’ve tried your config, no help. but thanks ![]()
