Which CPU frequency on RB951-2n? Site-wise or device-size false report?

I got handy device RB951-2n (https://routerboard.com/RB951-2n) which helped me several time. I brought it by chance and never though it is that weak (while is it weak indeed for modern WAN speeds), until when I go to System → Routerboard → Settings. I can see only two options of CPU speed to choose from: 240 MHz and 360 Mhz. Not that much, but what was surprise for me is that routerboard.com site claims it has 400 MHz CPU!

So now I’d like to know, is this a bug in the firmware, like CPU speed limit for whatever reason (so in fact the CPU can run at 400 Mhz, but the ROS limits it), or there is a lie on the site?

Personally I’d prefer first case to be true and have a way to run CPU at higher speed.

So to say, if you take RB2011, you’ll see that int CPU run at 600 MHz, but you can run it on higher speed by choosing “650 Mhz” from the list, so I really hope RB951-2n can be speed up a bit, too.

Hi.

The CPU nominal frequency is 400 Mhz.

You can set a lower frequency, but increase the frequency i think it is not possible. Because is limit by CPU hardware.

But you have to reboot your routerboard after apply the changes.

Be aware, kernel could crash

You might not get the original idea: the Winbox show me the list with only two choices, 240 and 360 Mhz. There is no such value as 400 on the list at all. So my question is, how MT claim this devices as 400 Mhz while there is no such value on my list?

Here is the model and frequency list as long as fw version. Any ideas?

OH! I now got it

Di you check /system resource ? which frequency appear ?

Do you have the latest routerOS ?

You won’t believe ))

I think i have the answer!

Your factory firmware is 2.39 and belongs to AR9330 CPU so, in this old version of hardware ( maybe the oldest RB951-2N) it has 360 Mhz, i remember had someone and i sold it a year ago.

But what appears in routerboard.com is the latest version of hardware of RB951-2n that have AR9331-AL1A CPU

Even in the latest hardware has 64Mb of RAM and in routerboard.com appears 32 Mb of RAM.

I hope my theory were true
