In 2023 or 2024 we can expect wifi 7 draft.
Do you think that Mikrotik will fully support wifi 6 in 2030?
I am writing this with little sarcasm, but when I look at your competitors (the cheapest tplink now supports 802.11ax), I feel like 10 years back. (At least Nstreme fix was finally resolved after many years of complete ignorance and silence.
When I see new newsletter, I read it with hope that something brutally will be shown. (maybe something like airfiber, or enterprise network monitoring system, warp drive )), but no. We have brand new poe injector. Or 15 port reverse poe switch. Anything that majority of Isp providers does not need (knot, bluetooth, iot, …)
We need to do several Gigabits through air for kilometers. I dont want sometimes spend whole day or days troubleshooting, why the hell mpls does not work. Or OSPF is constantly flapping.
Seriously, I work 20 years in this segment, have several thousands of customers, but sometimes it is unbearable. We buy new device (for example crs354 48 port poe switch). It should work flawlessly for this price, right? No! For couple of months it had to be rebooted, because of 1-8 ports problem.
Thats my point of view and as big MikroTik fan I hope, that somebody will really start to listen, what customers want and need.
Complete agreement.
Even the cheapest TPlink offers the AX standard …
Mikrotik still runs on AC and offers Wave2 on a very limited number of products. No outdoor product with Wawe2
Will we ever see AX, a spectral scan on AC hardware that you promised?
We really don’t need KNOT, Outdoor power supply, new injectors etc …
wifi-6e —> NetGear Orbi WiFi 6E ( This is the fastest of the fastest Mesh system available for any home — nothing is faster ! ))
If you want speed , read-up on Wi-Fi 6E and the 2.4 & 5 & 6-7 GHz band
anav , are you a WISP engineer ?
I’ve found that my best paying , fastest customers are all slowly moving to the Netgear Orbi Wi-Fi 6E mesh system.
One of my issues is that Mikrotik has zilch - zero - natta - nothing that can legally talk in 6 6GHz band and even more , nothing that does WiFi-6E in the 6-to-7 GHz band.
Wi-Fi 6E is in-stock at all of the major stores right now and have been there all summer long now.
If Mikrotik had Wi-Fi 6E products , I could of sold a few hundred by now.
I agree, but you must be in a $$market. No one around here is shelling out those bucks for wifi.
Even mozerd notes its his well to do clients that can afford to get them.
I can see if you are a wisp client this could be a game changer and the need justifies the cost, but for an average home, dont think so.
I could sure use some additional frequencies for my Mesh networks - the existing 5 GHz band is congested, noisy, slow and competing with cellular LTE-U (#46). There is no such thing as a clean 5 GHz channel these days.
yes, if MT wants to get back into the home wifi game…they need to ensure a future RB5009 comes with either wifi6 and preferably 6E
The next capac series should be wifi6 and preferably 6E.
This will happen when glaciers cover all of Europe
TPlink not only supports Wifi 6. Their latest flagship even has motorized active antenna! I’m not sure if this is just a gimmick, but it looks amazing.
@TomjNorthIdaho … You are 100% correct … in FACT what is driving 6E sales is just the facts that you have articulated … only problem is 6E supply is very limited … my wait time for 6E gear now is 2 - 4 weeks and I am told that if current supply chain is not freed up this will get much worse. Biden and the Democrats has completely destroyed the free flow of goods in my continent and with the current inflation trend prices will rise dramatically. China now controls everything …
WTF, supply chain problems have nothing to do with who is in power in the US LOL. Try hmmm let me see.. an effing pandemic maybe? :-PP
Also the spill over cascading effect of one ship holding up the SUEZ canal for quite some time is not trivial, and I am sure we are still paying for it all around the world.
I am also not crying over split milk of your more affluent customers, that can afford 6E, having to wait. Boo hoo for first world problems!
If you really cared you would send all your 6E inventory to Tom , for folks that live in the boonies and cannot get any internet and cannot afford Telsa Boy’s sky network.
