Sorry if my question is rather basic, however I’ve recently upgraded to a Mac OSX machine and when running winbox, it doesn’t seem to save any of they information that I’ve entered. In the past on my unix environment I was able to save IP’s, P/W’s, and name the device for future reference, however when attempting to set this up with the Mac version of Winbox none of the information that I’ve entered is saved.
I’ve uninstalled and re-installed the program multiple times, with no luck. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this perhaps?
Happens to me as well. Initially it worked but it breaks over time.
I haven’t tried to troubleshoot it because I’d rather not same that information.
If you want to clear it, you have to delete the .wine directory in your home folder. There are hidden directories that your not clearing just by uninstalling the program.
Which wine are you using? There are 3 different “versions” that I know of.
Crossover is Wine, just commercialized and supported.
Those of you using Crossover, does your drag and drop work for uploading files and do you have issues clicking on the mac or Ip on discovered devices on the connect dialog?
Feel free to elaborate on how. I copied the exe into the c drive and added a command to the program menu. Each time I run the command it simply brings the current winbox instance into focus.
I have the winbox.exe on my osx desktop. Then you can right click and say open with crossover. Then of course just change it to always open with crossover.
Thanks, I’ll give that a try. Do you also use Dude in crossover? I gave it a try but could not get the client to connect to the local server. Isn’t a big deal since most of the time I’ll be connection to a remote dude server.
Nope I’ve never tried that. We run dude and automated backups on a remote server as well and we just remote desktop to that machine to check things out.
