While I still have quibbles on a few of the design choices... In terms stability and functionality, it's hard to argue it not release quality. e.g. I cannot think of any issue where it broke config because it updated something wrong, displaying wrong info, etc. And, been probably been a year since I launched wine+winbox3 for anything, so clearly it works.
So sincere congratulations on the milestone! Now get back to working on The Dude, which IMO should have been the priority, not WinBox.
Even if it doesn't break anything, there are problems, like freezes, stupid layout and bad contrast in some places (though, it's better, than in beta1 of course). So, for me it's not usable and I remain on v3.
Is that possible to give all multi-line textbox controls (which are used mostly for inputting script, not only under /system/script but also all the PPP and DHCP event handlers) a monospace font? You can just reuse the font of Terminal, which is by default JetBrains Mono.
In fact even the textboxes used for License and Third-Party Licenses would benefit from a fixed width font, because that how most opensource licenses assume their content will be displayed.
While I prefer "dark mode" on most applications, I even got used to this forum's dark mode: the Winbox 4 dark mode hurts my eyes. I can't stand it. The light theme is okay, but dark mode really needs improvments to colors.
There is still the issue that when a window is displayed with unchanged content (e.g. the log), the window is still being re-drawn at a high rate. This problem has been introduced a couple of beta versions ago, it wasn’t always like that.
Please fix that, as it causes lots of unnecessary network traffic when WinBox is run on a headless server with remote display. Which is a convenient way of managing devices on a remote network.
Congrats on the RC! Lots of good work, feedback and fixes! I'm glad that I'm able to use WinBox 4 as a daily driver, and that are finally Native Linux & Mac Clients!
It's also great to finally switch to one forum thread per release as the Beta thread became entirely unnavigable.
