WinBox v4.2rc released!

What I meant was that when we selectively make the first few elements of the path bold / brighter, then there are also situations (like in the screenshot) where that makes it more difficult to quickly scan the items, when they only differ from the 3rd or even deeper levels.

I my opinion, the bolding really helps detecting/scanning the right most words (levels), because those parts are normally not vertically aligned (unlike columns in a table), while the first level / word is already neatly aligned on the left and can be read much more easily (you can quickly see the whether they are IP or IPv6 even when the words are dimmed).

When I first connect a device that has just been upgraded to 7.23.2, the Winbox 4.2rc shows "RouterOS 7.23.1 available" in the status bar. Disconnecting and re-connecting sometimes fixes that, but not always. Winbox has to be completely closed and re-opened to completely fix it.

I think I know how this can be solved - make all parts of the entry in same colour no matter if they are bold or not. Just get rid of that stupid dimming.

What's new in 4.2rc2 (2026-Jul-06 11:52):

  • windows: update certificate for Windows executable signing;
  • ui: show RouterOS update button only if selected channel's version is higher than current version;

You were only supposed to rebuke him for not wearing a suit and goad him for not holding any cards.
