Hi guys,
I’ve just discovered that my Mikrotik APs responds so slow when I have over 20 clients on it.
The Mik AP’s are on 2.4Ghz-b/g band
Even my Alcon AP’s are also doing the same.
The fewer the clients, the better the return time when I ping
Where I am suppose to get a return time of not more than 2ms, I get between 15ms and 200ms as the number of users increases
I’ve performed spectrum scanning at different time to check for interference and even when the spectrum is clear, the problem is still there.
At some point I felt mabe the Routerboards are overloaded and I took time to monitor it only to realise that the CPU utilization is only between 1% and 4%
What can I do to improve this?
I taught of getting an AP that can support about 100 concurrent users without incurring high response time but I dont know which one.
Please I need help.
Do your 20 client’s have bandwidth usage at the same time? or how much bandwidth totally your clients used while this problem occurs. Is it go near to maximum capacity of wireless interface ?
it hapenned in a classroom enviroment, where there are about 100 users with with only 2 APs
When the tutor says click, they all click, so ther all pull bandwidth at the same time
try to monitor bandwidth usage at that time. How much Do users use? it is important. maybe by add some Queue can handle this issue.
if nothing achieved, I think you need to add another AP.
