Wireless migration from LHG 5 to LHG XL 5 ax // Trouble with WiFi // no supported channels

Hi there,

today I changed my LHG 5 with a LHG xl 5 ax antenna.

I used the LHG 5 to access the nearest HamNet Station 35km away.

After mounting the antenna to my roof pole, i notice that the wireless configuration is quiet different between this two models.

My old config on the LHG 5

The device always shows me "no supported channels".

I tried to change the chanel.band, configuration.country, and som other without success.

What am I doing wrong, or which setting is incorrect?

It always worked with the settings on the old device.

Look in "Radios" and make sure that 5740 is shown as a supported frequency would be the first thing. Not sure what you get with the country undefined . . . Also, any particular reason you are forcing 5GHz-n?

Figured out, that the AX Series is not capable to fit this requirements...

So the AX Series is not usable for HamNet as replacement for LHG5.

Is there any way to get the "channel information" from an LHG XL HP5 antenna?

Her the infos from my "old" LHG 5 (without ax)

Maybe someone has this antenna and can check to see if channel 5740 is available on it.

The FCC doc on the product page gives the range, if that helps. (Not sure if you are US based, or ???) The international variant looks like it ought to cover it.

Looks like 5740 is just out of band . . .

Since it runs ROS, isn't the list available under "Radios" as I suggested prior?

Yes, you are Right, it is out of normal Bands.

In Germany the frequencies from 5650 MHz to 5850 MHz are reserved for Amateur Radio Zusage.

The HamNet is an Amateur Radio driven High Speed Wide area Network with WiFi technology. Mostly used with MikroTik or Ubiquiti Hardware.

It’s quite interesting, in my previous post you can see the capability of channels from my LHG 5.

There is a 5740 MHz Channel. An I have already used it.

But the FCC document is not showing this channel.

So I had to ask if some has the LHG XL HP 5 and can read the information directly from the device, before I will buy the next device which doen’t work for this scenario…

the new MikroTik ax products can only be used on frequencies and channels supported by the chip

20 and 40 are available and 80 or 160 depends on hardware, but 5 and 10 are not possible for missing chip capabilites

If it's not listed, it's not supported.

The question now is whether this is supported on the LHG HP5 devices...

Is not ax (RBLHG-5HPnD), is RouterOS 6 compatible, so, still valid what I wrote before (no frequency restriction) , without speculation.
