Wireless router, or combination wired router + AP?

Looking to replace my aging ASUS GT-AXE11000, and I was looking at the GT-BE98 Pro when it dawned on me, seeing how the latter is horribly expensive: why not spend somewhat more money and get a combination wired router + dedicated AP? So I started digging, and came across the CCR2004-1G-12S+2XS, which I am looking to pair with some AP such as the Omada EAP783 or something in that vein.

My main concern is to get a throughput on my LAN that is as close as possible to 10Gbps. Do you guys think the CCR2004-1G-12S+2XS would do better than the ASUS GT-BE98 Pro when it comes to this desideratum?

I am curious, what is the throughput of your ISP? or ISPs?
Do you use vlans or one flat network.

Beware… Mikrotik isn’t your average home user network equipment. There is no fancy GUI or various wizards. For wireless roaming between APs you need CAPsMAN and configuring that is well… Not great, not terrible
