At interface wlan setup
What does Area mean and what can you do with it?
Can someone explain that to me clearly?
Thanks
It’s a MT-proprietary extension to group networks.
Configure this on the AP side and add it to connect-list in the CPE.
Nice to have when you have a couple of overlapping sectors with the same SSID and you want your CPE, which might be located in a overlapping fringe zone, to connect to a specific area only.
For example you have six 120° sectors, North, South-east and South-West. One for far and one for near connections each.
Your SSID is alwayxs “myWISP-SSID”.
Then you can set North, SE, SW to your area property field and have those CPEs only connect to the North.
