wireless vs wifi-qcom vs wifi-qcom-ac RB4011

Which is the best package combo for wifi on the RB4011iGS+5HacQ2HnD-IN for RouterOS 7.17.1?

  • routeros + wireless
  • routeros + wifi-qcom
  • routeros + wifi-qcom-ac

While the documentation makes clear that my Audience unit needs “routeros + wifi-qcom-ac”, there is no direct specifcation for the RB4011…

Thanks!

yes it is:
The wifi-qcom-ac package Compatibility

RB4011iGS+5HacQ2HnD-IN (no support for the 2.4GHz interface),

rb4011 wifi version is a very rare device because uses a legacy wi-fi4 radio for 2.4ghz (almost the same radio of the ancient rb2011) combined with the best wi-fi 5 radio available on MikroTik, (same third radio of Audience) for 5ghz

with the spliting of packages between legacy wi-fi4 and newer wi-fi5 and wi-fi6 radios, rb4011 finds itself in the middle of a conundrum, where:

  • if you want to use both radios you have to stay with legacy package

  • if you want to take advantage of advanced features of 4x4:4 advanced wifi5 5ghz radio using the wifi-qcom package you have to lost the legacy 2ghz radio

My bad, especially since I remember seeing the note about wifi-qcom-ac not working with the 4011. So does that mean I should install wifi-qcom, or just leave wireless as is?
