WMIA-198N 2ghz-10mhz trouble.

Hello normis,

we just replace our broken routerboard with the new one RB433, the routerboard come with preinstalled 4.5 ROS.

1.We put 2 minipci WMIA-198N and set the band to 2ghz-10mhz. and nothing connected to this AP.

change the card to WLM54AG then set the band to 2ghz-10mhz… all customer connected.

Any issue with this WMIA-198N for 2ghz-10mhz band ?

  1. the superchannel mode is available without any purchase of superchannel license.
    is this for scanning purpose only ? or i can use this superchannel in AP bridge mode ? (trasmit superchannel frequency for normal operation)
    because when i enable the superchannel and set the frequency to superchannel frequency nothing connected. but when i try to repurchase the license and put in the license key, then set the frequency to superchannel freq, client connected immediately.

  1. I am not aware of such card, we haven’t tested it

  2. superchannel is available for free for all modes, but your client device must be able to scan for it. ie. set “scan-list = yourfrequency”

ohh.. i miss that free superchannel info and double purchase the superchannel license :stuck_out_tongue:…

so… how can i report about this card not working in 2ghz-10mhz band ? and get mikrotik test the card and give a fix in the next update of Mikrotik?

I don’t think this issue is related to mikrotik, if all other cards work fine

You mix two different cards.

SparkLAN WMIA-198N is 802.11N card and 5,10Mhz channels are not supported.

Compex WLM54AG is regular 802.11ag card and 5.10MHz channels works.

Currently you cannot use 5 or 10MHz channels with any 802.11N card.
