x86 - immediately "demo licence expired" on first boot

I tried to install routeros on a x86 box. Install went through without a problem, but at the first boot after generating the RSA keys it says “demo licence expired” and turns off. Anyone an idea why that is happening? Maybe someone from Mikrotik here?

Exactly the same happens to me. Install, boot, shutdown with that message (6.35.2 x86)
Cannot get the soft-id to purchase the licence so I´m stuck.

what hardware did you install it on? did you use CD install or Netinstall? What kind of disk and motherboard was used?

Motherboard: Supermicro x9scl-f

I had thrown in an old HITACHI hdd i had sitting on the bench (hts451010G9A00)

Install via the CD. Actually via the ISO file. Supermicro boards have a BMC (Baseboard management controller) that let you mount an iso file into a virtual CD drive while remote control the server.

Did anyone experience this issue also by installing device through Netinstall? If yes, then please provide screen shot from Netinstall screen to us.

As i don’t have a windows computer i’m not able to run netinstall. It would be nice if you would provide the needed files so that someone can use his own pxe server, maybe even a routerboard. As this install was only for a test (speedtest with an other routerboard) anyway i used a different computer at the end.

Yes, the same “demo licence expired”. First installed from ISO and after that installed from netinstall. Attached screenshot from netinstall.

same problem here dell 710, usb pen drive version 6.37.1

  1. installation
  2. 1st boot ok
  3. 2nd boot ok config done
  4. 3rd boot demo expired and reboot

repeat the exercise with 6.36.4 everything is working fine. Later on added the key and upgraded to 6.37.1

I can reproduce this bug on VirtualBox (Other Linux 64bit) with the x86 ISO -image by rebooting once, starting with 6.37.

6.36.3 and earlier does not have this feature.

So, once installed and booted, ‘/system reboot’, the VM completes reboot, shows a flash of the message “License expired” and shuts down.

I really like to use the 24h full speed trial as demo and lab. “Insane” actually working things like vrrp-terminated eoip-tunnels have been known to be built between VM:s running RouterOS on my laptop

Yes, I expired some problem in VirtualBox also try VMWare something, also contact support for now only solution is if you use virtual machine to install select x64 system in virtual machine after that CHR image working with free licnce.
I try x86 iso and CHR image on x86 and try to paste licence after first boot but not have any success second boot just say licence expired and shut down. It is impossible to use demo licence or level 1 licence.
It will be nice to have this again not always have RB or spare machine to try something but always can install VirtualBox or VMWare .
