I would like to get some feedback from people who have experience monitoring MikroTik devices with Zabbix.
We are planning to deploy Zabbix for around 1500 MikroTik routers (mainly CCR2004).
At the moment, our main goal is to monitor standard metrics like interfaces, traffic, temperature, and device availability.
In addition, we are also interested in going further and implementing service-level monitoring, especially for routing protocols such as OSPF and BFD.
Since MikroTik does not expose OSPF/BFD states via SNMP, I would like to ask:
- Has anyone implemented OSPF/BFD monitoring in Zabbix using scripts, API, or other methods?
- How reliable is this approach in production environments?
Another question is related to user access and tools:
- In MikroTik Dude, we have integrated Winbox access from the tool, which works very conveniently.
Is there any similar way to integrate Winbox in Zabbix?
And finally regarding reporting:
- Does Zabbix support exporting device inventory or reports (e.g. device list, IPs, etc.) in CSV or Excel format?
I would really appreciate if you could share your experiences, best practices, or limitations you faced.
