Hello all ,
I’m trying to figure out precisely how to set up my mikrotik firewall to permit zoom . I looked this up and they list a bunch of servers and thought it would take forever to add a firewall rule for every ip they list. I’m not sure how to configure a simple ruleset to pass zoom traffic exclusively back and forth through my firewall. My firewall currently drops all unrequested connections into my network. i’d sure appreciate some help on this. Thanks..
Your Zoom clients on your local LAN will make OUTBOUND calls to Zoom cloud services.(and returning traffic, part of the session should be allowed offcourse)
There is no specific INBOUND connection requirement that I know of.
Offcourse if you BLOCK even OUTGOING traffic that you will have a hard time allowing Zoom.
But by default the NAT/MASQ allowing LAN > INTERNET should do the trick without your intervention.
NO requirement to set any special firewall rules for zoom or for any program not hosted on a compute on your network.
Default firewall rules work fine. If you block all outgoing browsing and internet traffic that is a different story.
Hello, Can you please check the post I stuck in my config.
