I would love to be able to change out my old Teltonika RUT that is installed in a QuWireless Antenna mount fitted at the top of my mast with a more modern Mikrotik one.
You guys need to look at a weatherproof 4/5G router, with at least two micro-sim cards (or an e-sim) suitable for mounting at the top of a mast (so not too heavy or large) that can use PoE. Personally I would not use any WiFi (or use it to connect to the marina's wifi) routing traffic to my Mikrotik router down in the saloon, which has the dual band WiFi on it.

Agree there should be some better, outdoor/marine 5G options...

Now the LtAPmini could work. You need to get some SMA pigtails and wire them up to the antennas, but's otherwise fit the bill. Other than the modem is old, but can be upgrade since it's miniPCIe slot inside.

The wAPac is more powerful (and ARM-based) but only single SIM without any e-SIM support.

Why not Chateau 5G ax? You could use external antennas if needed and you'll have single device for all your Internet access duties.

The Chateau won't last long in a marine environment even indoors due to the salty air. Besides, you don't want a long antenna cable because of signal loss. MikroTik should offer two types of 5G outdoor devices: one omnidirectional and one directional optimized for long-range connectivity in rural areas.

There is also the NetMetal AX. You'd have to add modem, pigtails, and antentas still.

Or, there are a few boutique marine LTE antennas that have space for a router inside, so imagine the L23 board (same CPU/specs as NetMetal AX) might work too.

I use the Telit LM960A18. For US, they support all Verizon and AT&T bands and CA modes, and imporantly come in miniPCIe. But I think that's the highest end modem you can get without going to M.2. Telit LM960's have the CA bands and full RSRP/RSRQ/SINR shown in RouterOS. They just don't support firmware update, so you need to remove the modem should any update be needed - since a bit older now, there aren't a lot of updates. And the LM960 uses the smaller MHF4 connectors (4x4 MIMO), while most things are U.FL, so another consideration with the Telit's (or any newer modem).

None in miniPCIe. Even Cat18 modem in miniPCIe is hard to find, and think the Telit is only one with US-bands. Why it's annoying that the L23/NetMetal use miniPCIe... Seems Mikrotik considered it in the design, and maybe they just ship a decent high-end modem for US market with it is my hope.
