A very strange multicast routing issue of the CCR1016-12G

Hello, we are cable TV company and we took a CCR1016-12G for testing. It interconnects IPTV service provider with our IP-to-QAM headend. The second output is connected to the optical ethernet network, where the customers can watch IPTV. We use PIM on the CCR1016-12G. During the testing, we found very strange issue. If some user start to watch any TV program, the same program disappears on the IP-to-QAM input. We get the same result, if two IPTV customers are trying to watch the same TV program. In this case only one customer can receive stream of this program. We have such problem only with CCR1016-12G. We configured an old RB433AH and connected it in the same way. RB433AH works OK, but it have limited performance and is too weak for this purpose. Both boxes use 6.7 Mikrotik OS version, so it may be hardware issue of the new router. Any ideas?

It looks that people from Mikrotik do not pay attention, or ignore this really serious problem. IMHO CCR1016 and all the CCR10xx family can’t be used to route multicast streams using PIM. Look here:

After a lot of posts, still no answer from Mikrotik to the same question, as mine.

I continue my monolog with myself. Today we tested RB1100AHx2, connected in the same way, with the same OS version and the same configuration. And it works! So we can conclude that the firmware (or hardware) is to blame for that. 3 pcs. of the CCR1016-12G goes back to the reseller.

Our colleagues contacted MT and got some news:

“Hello,
thank you for contacting us regarding this issue, the problem is known,
and we are
working on it. For the mean time, if possible, use router of different
architecture as this is tile related problem.
Regards,
Janis Krumins”

Since this is a support confirmed known issue, could you please add it here?

Thanks!

It is solved in MT OS v.6.8:
