css326 sfp problem

i have a problem connecting css326-24g-2s (firmware 2.2) to crs212-1g-10s-1s (firmware 6.39.1) using mikrotik spf modules (mikrotik S-31DLC20D)

link is up on both sides but devices does not sees each other no matter what i try — over copper ethernet everything work ok!

same modules work when i interconnect two crs12-1g-10s-1s+in ( firmware 6.39.1 & 6.40rc15) or two css326-24g-2s+rm (firmware 2.2)

does anyone expirience the same problem ?

From https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/MikroTik_SFP_module_compatibility_table

CCR1016-12S-1S+ / > CRS212-1G-10S-1S+ > – SFP+1 interface does not work on any other link speed than 10G (does not support 1.25G fiber optic transceivers)

Could this be the reason? Which SFP port are you using?

Possible solutions:

1.- Try any but the SFP+ port on the 212 to link with the other switches if you want to keep using the S-31DLC20D
2.- Use 10G https://routerboard.com/SplusDA0001, https://routerboard.com/SplusDA0003 10G link between both SFP+.
3.- If former DACs (1 and 3 meters respectively) fall short for your scenario, use S+31DLC10D on the SFP+

i’m using original mikrotik modules supported per table inserted in spf not spf+ slots …

link is up on both sides but devices does not sees each other no matter what i try

what do you mean exactly with doesn’t see? no ping?

If so, I’m afraid it looks as is L3 what’s failing, not the SFP (L2) link… could you post an export, and /interface monitor captures at each switch on the problem scenario?

well there is no ping beetween css326 and crs212 … also ip neighbours on crs212 does not show anything on specified spf …

the config is plain and simple - tried with bridging and ip direct on interface but both does not work …

switch with default config - ip 192.168.88.1 - spf module on css326 connected to spf on crs212 with ip 192.168.88.2 (directly on interface or on bridge with
interface bound to that bridge) but ping does not pass neither i can see mac address from crs …

FYI: SwOS 2.3 has been released, see http://forum.mikrotik.com/t/swos-version-2-3-released/109245/1

SwOS version 2.3 released
http://www.mikrotik.com/download

What’s new in v2.3:

*) fixed CRS317: make 10G links more stable;
*) fixed “Allow From VLAN” on untagged packets with correct default vlan id;
*) LACP: fixed unstable aggregate link problem when partner had short retransmit timer;
*) CSS326 & CRS317: made 1Gb fiber SFP module work with auto negotiation;
*) CSS106: do not VLAN tag RSTP packets;

seems that new firmware v2.3 fixed this problem ! :slight_smile:

Hi!
I have 3 switches CSS326-24G-2S+RM (firmware 2.13) with Mikrotik SFP modules pairs S-35LC20D/S-53LC20D.
LINK:
SWITCH A (S-53LC20D plugged in SFP1) ------> SWITCH B (S-35LC20D plugged in SFP1)
SWITCH C (S-53LC20D plugged in SFP1)------->SWITCH B (S-35LC20D plugged in SFP2)

Link between SW C to SW B works when I set Auto Negotiation=OFF and set speed to 1G on both sides.
1GB speed is set on SFP1 and SFP2 port on SW B.
1GB speed is set on SFP1 port on SW C.
1GB speed is set on SFP1 port on SW A

When I enable SFP1 port on SW A to establish the link with SW B, link betweeen SW C and SW B is not working…
