Hi guys! I’m trying to set up email notifications but I can’t get it to work. When hitting the test button I’m not getting any emails. I’m using The Dude version 6.49.4. I’ve triple checked the password, obviously. What am I missing?
Not sure if SSL StartTLS is supported, have you tried on the unencrypted ports ?
Have you turned on two factor authentication for Microsoft account?
If yes you need to generate an app password, you can’t use that of the account.
No, I haven’t. What ports are those? I tried 465 but that didn’t work either.
No, I don’t think that two factor authentication is activated. I always login normally with my email and password and nothing else.
Just did a test using Outlook account accordingly to the documentation configuration settings - POP, IMAP, and SMTP settings for Outlook.com and settings are similar to the 365 - POP, IMAP, and SMTP settings.
CHR 7.7 / Dude 7.7 - Tls Mode: yes
With ‘Tls Mode: tls-only’ an error appear int the ROS logs.
I tried using Gmail too, using the settings I found here: http://forum.mikrotik.com/t/dude-v6-email-notification-through-gmail/109895/1
But I’m getting a AUTH failed error in the ROS logs. I’m sure I’m using the right password.
Hey, wow, that actually worked. Thank you!
For now. These are being deprecated as well.
You need to follow the advisories from Microsoft around authentication. Things are being changed all the time, what works today may be deprecated next month.
