hAP ax3 as wireless access point/repeater?

hi! bit of a networking/mikrotik newbie here, so this might be a dumb question

i recently got a hAP ax3 with the intention of using as a wireless access point/wifi repeater with my existing router so that i can get better speeds locally over wifi to my NAS and not disrupt the rest of the households connection to the internet by ripping out the whole existing router setup, is there a configuration that allows you to do that with the hAP ax3?

also something i wanna note here is that my router is in another part of the house and i dont have a direct ethernet connection to it from where id be setting up the hAP ax3

thanks in advance for the help!

Hello, yes you can!
Set up the hAP in AP bridge/station mode (this old topic is usefull for knowing the differences betwen them http://forum.mikrotik.com/t/apbridge-mode-vs-station-mode/131651/1), if in your main router you have the right routing (who can connect to what ecc,) there is no need to make routing configuration in the hAP.
In the hAP you need to bridge all interface (including wi-fi) and the work is done (some usefull information can be found here https://help.mikrotik.com/docs/display/ROS/Bridging+and+Switching).
Edit: This one is a usefull link for the “set up ap bridge/station”https://help.mikrotik.com/docs/display/ROS/Wireless+Interface#WirelessInterface-Repeater

In theory it is much better if you can use one of the radios for the link to the router and the other one for the AP clients, but of course it depends on your requirements.
