With 7.1rc3 the RBM33G loses configuration (e.g. IPv4 stuff like IP addresses, VLAN’s, DHCP server, etc.) after power outages. After several trials I also experienced this configuration losses after simple reboots. This also happened after a previous initiated shutdown within the webfig GUI.
I didn’t experienced this with 7.1beta6. I therefore downgraded to this firmware. I didn’t try rc1 and rc2 on this RBM33G.
Upload it in files to root. With a restart it downgrades. I used the button ‘downgrade’ in /system/packages to initiate the process. I’m not sure if a normal reboot would have done the trick as well.
It’s annoying MT is not providing older development versions online. Maybe the version from softpedia has an integrated nsa-backdoor … but hey at least Internet access is stable now …
Happened to me six times now - all on “hEX S” units with routerOS 7.1beta6
It works fine for a few weeks, sometimes months and then due to a reboot the routers lost the whole config (no config at all = 0.0.0.0).
Restored latest .backup > reboot > coming back without config! Restored from .rsc…
Upgrading now to Release 7.1rc4 - “improved filesystem and configuration storage stability” sounds suspicious ?
What’s new in 7.1rc4 (2021-Sep-20 13:18):
*) improved filesystem and configuration storage stability;
*) show “expired password” prompt for users with blank password;
*) other fixes and improvements;
The issue should be resolved in 7.1rc4, in rare cases where the configuration loss happens, there is a chance that configuration will be lost during the upgrade to it. As you would be upgrading from a version that does not yet contain a fix. Once you are running 7.1rc4, there should be no more issues with losing configuration.
I experienced loss of partial configuration on my Rb4011 with 7.1RC4 under normal operation, but unfortunately I didn’t saved the autosupout. Next time I will save it and send to support, I promise
It happend last week at night when I slept and next day I was can’t reach it over IPv4, only on IPv6, so I logged into it over IPv6, reboot it and after that I was can’t reach it over IP only with mac-telnet. All of the bridge config messed up, IF binding show unknown interface names starting with stars. After I fixed the IF names it works fine and I checked with success reload. The other thing which is messed up is this:
/system resource irq rps
