This is normal for all vendors in ECM mode.
Quectel give you a www panel, try open in browser 192.168.225.1 to open interface to set settings at EP06 itself… but be aware that DMZ feature not work and this is place where you should assign: “[EC25-AU] Web interface and DMZ in ECM mode”
You can try that at EP06 and if webpanel not open or this DMZ function not work then…
a) upgrade fw of EP06-E to EP06ELAR04A03M4G (v4.03) but if you have EP06-A then sorry, I not know if this is the same package. Try reach your FEA from support@quectel.com for proper QFlash + FW.
b) create a dedicated post at Quectel forum in LTE-A subcategory.
I believe I saw the real public IP address before in older ROS version (but might be wrong).
ROS6 it’s possible only at PPP mode with PPP-out1 at usb1 device… this is default for new device.
To grab speed and PublicIP properly we must use ros7b8 and mbim mode.
The real issue is, when I run trace route to example 8.8.8.8 from that router (or to any other server) it does not work (it drops at 192.168.255…) . Same for netwatch, it does not work

Differ fw at ECM mode works differ way. General is to block tracerout… but pings should works fine and the NetWatch should be usefull in ECM mode too. SAA1#MeWorks

I not support any of that ceses, I know that @dad232 have that experience and he count all cases at forum with broke sim slog port… but to be this problem as software… sorry but I not have that, only I read old post about this problems. You can watchdog that stuff by LteLogger2 and with litle modify you can detect and triger your fix script.

That stuff should be diagnose and fixed, I help with many that stuff.
Currently Telit LM940 do many diconnection with ros7b8 and with support we try fix this…
