Hello!
There is a cool and comfortable kid - map lite. Hap ax lite is out, should we expect map ax / map lite? Very cool device, takes its niche, I would like to be able to use a faster wireless network than WIFI4 allows
ax devices have some power requirements which make very difficult to do such a small ax device
Have a look at casings of AX2 and AXLite.
Plenty of openings for thermal management. That’s for a very good reason.
While I would like to see something like mAP Lite (better mAP), I think the closest we are going to get is AX Lite (and with LTE version it became even better then mAP for my use cases). Some POE In/Out possibIility would make it even better perhaps.
You can see huge heatsink inside AXLite. I was surprised how heavy it felt, then I just looked inside the case.
My need is for an ARM-based one so it run ZeroTier (and/or BTH). If heat means giving up AX… that be okay IMO.
As of 2026 seems like mAP AX is a thing now.
Full model name is mAP-52axD
The PDF file of that brochure is here: https://box.mikrotik.com/f/ff8798fd50d7471db249/?dl=1
Since it most likely will only have 1 ether port (shown in PDF), it makes it more a mAP Lite replacement.
Too bad ... a second port would have made things so much easier / more flexible(unless that USB-C can also be used as ether ? ... time will tell).
Yes, very sad that it is missing the second ethernet port... No more POE passthrough for sniffing IP phones. ![]()
Still, I have a lot of use for this little thingy, can't wait to get one. Thanks a lot!
BTW, love the case!
Well made!
I would've liked a second gigabit copper port as well but overall, this looks like a solid buy. I'll be grabbing a couple for my backpack if / when they go on sale.
