What about:
| Mikrotikish | Meaning in Mikrotik world | Meaning in real world | English |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nightly build | an attempt to release each day (actually night) for the experimenters a work-in-progress build | same as Mikrotik, but performed more rarely, like once a week or so, IF there is a suitable moon phase or the developers feel like it | II (If Inclined) build |
I guess these nightly are more like snapshots. automated builds from their latest source. untested of course. Openwrt has something similar: https://openwrt.org/releases/snapshot
I agree with @infabo!
On real use cases scenario, Nigthly Builds are in fact automated build scheduled to run at night.
Independently if it will break or not, if it is good or not.
It just builds... an publish it...
https://vyos.net/get/nightly-builds/ is an example of that also.
Historically, if I'm not mistaken, first records of some kind of nightly build were in Microsoft, on Windows 3.something...
