Multiple AP with wired connection

Hi!

I haven’t found information yet, how build a wireless infrastructure with multiple AP, when all APs have wired connection each other.
This description display wireless connection between APs: http://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Interface/HWMPplus

What about frequencies: equal or different on APs?

Thanks!

There are quite a few threads on the forum about it but I don’t see anything in the wiki either. Basically what you want to do is bridge the ethernet interface with the wireless interface on each access point, set all access points to have the same SSID and security settings, but stagger the frequencies between the access points. For 2.4ghz I have the best luck with 2417/2437/2457.

You don’t need HWMP+ or WDS (nor will you really benefit) if you only want the traffic going through the ethernet connection. The clients will have to decide when to roam, so you may want to adjust (lower) the power of some access points if they are in close proximity and set the distance to indoor (if it is indoor).

I think I read something about a package in the forums that is being developed to centrally manage the wireless settings for multiple access points, but it’s not yet available.
