I’ve been having problems setting up email alerts on The Dude.
Is there anyone out there, that could give me detail instructions on how to set it up.

None of your links explains how to set up the Dude to send email notifications, how to set up the triggers and how to set up SMTP in the Dude.
Go to Notifications , select the red plus sign , change type to Email and then enter required information.
