RB1100AHx4 - RouterOS v7.1 License Level ZERO - Why?

Hi there

My MikroTik RB1100AHx4 Dude Edition, with RouterOS 6.49.2, does not upgrade to RouterOS v7.1.
In System → Packages it shows the version as available, but when pressing download, it just keep saying “Calculating” - Install it is never happening.
I then tried netinstall, and got the v7.1 installed. But now it was a demo license (license level 0), with only 24 hours use possible.
The same result if I upload the NPK file and reboots.

MikroTik support has not responded to my mail.
Anybody with a tip on how to make it work.

Thanks guys

You ever hear back on this? Was going to update, but it isn’t doing it automatically…figured I better check for issues first

Uninstall all extra packages prior to the upgrade to Router OS 7.x. Had the same issue with my RB4011 that had Multicast and NTP package installed.

I saw a posting about “extra packages”

I don’t think I installed anything extra other than dude.

Is there a list of what the default packages are somewhere, and what is categorized as “extra”?

The dude is not available yet on v7, that is why it is failing for you.

Didn’t notice that, thx!

I Have the same Problem, What is your solution?

Wait for The Dude server to appear under RouterOS v7

How to solve this problem?

The way @silversword stated: wait for The Dude server to become available under v7. Chances are, though, that the waiting will be a prolonged one (MT staff mentioned in some obscure threads that The Dude is put on hold right now without definite decission about its future).

If you don’t need The Dude server and would really like to run v7, then you can use netinstall to install your device from scratch (use exported config … not binary backup … as reminder of what to configure).
