RB260GSP

Hello Everyone,

I want to realize a mikrotik setup.

I use:

  • HXE POE RB960PGS RouteOS v6.47.4
  • 3x RB260GSP CSS106-1G-4P-1S SwOS 2.11

I want to power all Devices with POE from the HXE POE.

I connect the first RB260GSP to the HXE POE, this will work. If I connect a RB260GSP to the first RB260GSP then the first one says short curcuit and stop working.
So the second RB260GSP in the line wont get power.

This is my setup
Power In DC Jack (HXE POE) ----> POE Out —> POE IN (RB260GSP 1st) ----> POE Out ----> POE IN (RB260GSP 2nd) ----> POE Out ----> POE IN (RB260GSP 3th)
The first one starts, the second wont start.

First of all is this possible. To put after a HXE POE 3 RB260GSP in one line?

I hope anyone could help me.
Thanks to all,

Marco

See the different standards: http://forum.mikrotik.com/t/poe-port-red-on-switch-with-connected-wap/144028/1
But also daisy chaining might be limited: “For best PoE output functionality, please use the power jack to power the CSS unit.”

I was also surprised that a hAP ac Lite powered with PoE by a MQS (from USB) could not power the mAP Lite at its PoE out port. Plugging the power supply in the hAP Lite worked for the mAP Lite.

Thanks for your answer.

I just tried some things and I found out, that my setup will work If I avtivate the “Port1 PoE In Long Cable” Setting of the switch.I use for my test setup only 0.25m long cables. So I am wondering, why I has to set this setting.
