You are correct.
how to fix this ?
Stop using socks5.
If its removed from 7.x, the menu should be removed as well.
It’s not removed, I just wish they’d remove useless junk that don’t need to run on your router and are features mostly used only by hackers anyway.
icant stop !!
Removing it is not an appropriate solution. This capacity must be included. Anyone who wants it uses it and those who don’t want it won’t use it.
calm down. it is still included in v7. report your observations and a supout.rif to mikrotik support. makes way more sense, than complaining over here.
already send email to support but not responding
use their support ticket system
already sended
Programmers’ silence is intolerable. Why don’t they fix such a simple capacity?
mikroitk say ,fix in next release
So your socks5 issue is not a socks5 issue?
But just a PEBCAK error?
i have socks 5 issue
support please fix socks5
You are aware that nothing’s gonna happen overnight, right? Not even a reply from Mikrotik. Could be they were gonna drop socks service altogether in v7 because its use is becoming obsolete at best and is dangerous at worst.
v7.1 is still in “development”, so some wait for a response to a “bug report” is to be expected of any vendor. It could be temporarily remove because they know something is broken, and they didn’t want to hold up the releasing a new rc to then get “SOCKS doesn’t work” bugs. They could also be dropping. Or maybe moving it to “extra-packages”. Depending on if your glass if half full, or half empty - trying to reading the Mikrotik tea leaves is waste of time.
I do think some clarity from Mikrotik on the features that are going to be “in” or “out” be good for all – or even some vague “maybe deprecated in future” reference in wiki/help be very helpful and more canonical, over forum comments. If Mikrotik was going to “clear the decks” of older features, some advance notice help folks plan for the v7 transition (or the need to stick with v6 for X old feature).
