We would like to see /31 support as well. /32 works for quite a few things, but /31 support is a long established RfC and it is generally expected that most modern day routers will support it.
I don’t think we can expect a somewhat stable fully functional v7 within 1.5 years
Also bear in mind: it is common knowledge that things are only stable in the ‘long term’ branch so it could be many years from now before it will be really stable.
This makes me very sad
It’s worth noting that MikroTik already sells hardware that either requires ROS7 (the Chateau) or is clearly designed for it (the CCR2004). I wouldn’t be surprised if the upcoming bigger CCR20xx routers also require ROS7 and the OS not being ready is thus blocking their release.
You are probably right in terms of it being years before ROS7 can replace the long term branch, but if no version of ROS7 ships this year at all, it’s increasingly going to be a business problem for MT.
Hi MRZ, while I always find your answers good and accurate, I will have to admit that I am running:
add address=aaa.bbb.ccc.253/31 interface=ether11 network=aaa.bbb.ccc.252
add address=aaa.bbb.ccc.255/31 interface=ether12 network=aaa.bbb.ccc.254
with 7.1b3 on a RB11AHx4, also had the same working on a CCR1009 (obviously not on ether11/12 though).
Ether 11 as a primary is running well with BGP and ether 12 as a backup with a simple static default gateway
I’m just hanging out for BFD on static routes to clear out a lot of (what will then be) unnecessary BGP config!
Cheers MRZ and MikroTik, and keep up the great work.
Is it possible to create navigation groups for users using active directory and a radius hotspot? I need to segregate the browsing by user groups, I already created a hotspot in the mikrotik and this validates with users of a domain by active directory. Now, I need the users to have different access to certain pages. Is it possible to do this segregation?
