V7.23rc [testing] is released!

Before an upgrade:

  1. Remember to make backup/export files before an upgrade and save them on another storage device;
  2. Make sure the device will not lose power during upgrade process;
  3. Device has enough free storage space for all RouterOS packages to be downloaded.

SUP-214672 regarding the "killer trio" consisting of packet sniffer running, bridge vlan filtering active and sniff-tzsp mangle rules enabled killing the internet is also present in this release.
Hope it doesn't reach stable in this state.

Just upgraded from 7.21.1. No issues so far. Just enabled "add-dns=yes" for dhcp-server. Seems to work.

is this somehow configurable?
I have my own DoH instance (AGH) behind NPM and after upgrading the communication was lost:

DoH server connection error: SSL: ssl: fatal alert received (6)

I’ve had to enable HTTP/2 Support on the proxy host.

Also I’ve had a look at my config but can’t guarantee this is related to this specific version:

/system resource irq rps set *F disabled=yes

How to get rid of this garbage?

Thanks for the report, issue confirmed!

I've withdrawn it because the issue was resolved after reviewing the settings.

After testing, this release appears to have an issue where the recently added multipath BGP functionality will not HW offload routes if multipath is enabled on a BGP instance.

This affects all routes received (both ECMP / multi-homed routes, as well as single homed routes), under the following conditions:

  • Multipath is enabled on a BGP instance.
  • At least two BGP connections from the same instance are configured and online.
  • At least one ECMP route is present (i.e., same route, load balanced).
  • Both with BFD and without BFD yielded the same result (in case that was a potential variable).

The only way to fix it is to disable hardware offloading on the physical interface, hit apply, then re-enable hardware offloading.

I can confirm this affects both physical interfaces and bonded interfaces on CRS518s and CCR2216s.

I cannot confirm this, it works in our labs, and BGP multipath is not related to v7.23. Please create a separate topic, show your configuration, or consider reporting this to support@mikrotik.com and attach the supout.rif file when the issue is active.

Noticed a config change caused by simply upgrading from 7.22.1 to 7.23rc1.

I had mtu=auto before the upgrade. It was removed.

image

I also checked "export verbose" to make sure. I thought, maybe mtu=auto is the new default? But it was not.

There are two changelog items regarding lte mtu:

The fix was to remove my mtu=auto?

Sorry, but you need to check your own documentation, because according to RouterOS’ own docs, multipath was implemented in 7.23.

Here’s a nice little bar from that page showing that all the way at the end (where 7.23 is), that multipath BGP was just added:

image

On top of that, I actually went and downgraded both devices to 7.22 and can confirm the option does disappear.

So since we’ve established that the issue is, in fact, directly related to 7.23, let’s figure out why it doesn’t work instead of just telling customers ‘it works in our labs’, alright?

Well...

What's new in 7.22 (2026-Mar-09 10:38):

*) bgp - implemented add-path;
*) bgp - implemented multipath (ability for BGP best path to select ECMP routes);

What's new in 7.23beta4 (2026-Mar-25 16:31):

*) winbox - added "Multipath" property under the "Routing/BGP/Instance" menu;
:upside_down_face:

Thanks, but can you share more details about your setup, network diagram, and configuration export? What the output of /ip/route/print detail for those routes?

If I used WinBox this would make sense. :rofl:

I'm guessing this is in reference to SUP-213266.
I'll add a few more devices to the ticket that have empty health menus.

Just upgraded cAPX (in CAP role) from 7.22 to 7.23rc1, added rose-storage and container. Reboot, all OK (on CAP). On CAPsMAN, hAP AX3 running 7.22 local wifi interfaces stopped working, error “failed to prepare interface”. The error is visible in CLI and Webfig, nothing in log. Wifi clients roamed to CAP.

It’s because of diferrent RouterOS versions? 7.22 CAPsMAN and 7.23rc1 on CAP. I didn’t touch anything on the CAPsMAN. ?

SUP-214807: Detect Internet shows 61 UDP ports in use.
log file --> detnet-ports.txt (1.8 KB)

7.22 beta 3:
detnet - changed default port from MNDP to a random unused UDP port;

Atheros8327 fixed (SUP-214410 closed). Thank you
