With 3200 comments, 44 beta versions and a lot of bug fixes / improvements / regressions in between. Perhaps it’s time to create a separate thread each time a new beta version is released?

Keep putting a good summary at the start and people can go from there. Similar to how the RouterOS announcements are done.

One might think that, after roughly 17 months in beta, a release candidate level of quality would have been reached by now. I would not start new topics while still in beta.

Yes, for sure, b44 must be v1 now !
And still not easy bug reporting or source code auditing...?

It is NOT an open-source project. When you want open-source software, you will have to shop somewhere else.

Seriously? It' so raw and buggy, that there should be at least 40 more betas until even thinking about v1...

Anyone else finding the red error text in dark mode hard to read?

At the risk of an argument, maybe the text ought to be orange or light blue to make it more readable?

Mikrotik needs proper UI designers to get this thing done. Otherwise it will be like this forum in dark mode - which for some reason shows read topics in white text and unread topics in almost-indistinctible gray-on-bluish-dark-gray. Strangely other sites using Discourse are able to make their forum actually readable.

It’s not really about the suitability/progress on Winbox4. It more about readability in the forum.

No one is going to read 3k+ comments. There is an element of carry forward from each beta version in the list of issues unresolved and fixed which the Mikrotik team can continue to post at the opening comment for each new thread.

I figure it would also help the Mikrotik team find and trace bugs against each beta version.

I agree. A user has made a list of open problems, but of course that is always a subjective list and other people may see different problems and/or would not think of the items on the list being a problem.

To keep focus on the open problems it would be better when there is a separate smaller topic where each beta is discussed and there is actually a clear status of where each beta is, what it still needs, and comments can be made about that in particular. That should help MikroTik to develop in the direction of a finished product, instead of the way it is going now.

Any help to import databse hosts from 3.xx vesrions ?

Could this be changed, so that the grouped tabs are kept together even after switching to other tabs/tab groups. What I mean is that the tab groups should only be broken apart when using Shift + Left-Click too, not by normal click. Let me give an example:

For some property dialogs, such as the PPP Profile, I might prefer to group the tabs like this (tabs with fewer items are grouped together):

If I keep this view then WinBox 4 does remember the group and does restore the grouping even after the application has been restarted.

But if I switch to the General tab, then the grouping of the 4 other tabs is broken apart, and I'll have to manually group them again.

Could you please make the change, so that when I click on General, then back to any of the 4 other tabs, the 4 tabs are still kept together in one group? If I don't want them to be grouped together anymore, I would hold Shift and click on the individual tab headers to remove them one by one (this is currently already implemented).

One important note is that such behavior should be customizable. May be with some setting. In some scenarios it could be useful, in others not, so it could be inconvenient to break them, using additional key.

any workaround for this? im on macos
