What's new in 4.4 (2026-09-14): app: add ROS gui file caching support; downloaded to standard OS cache directory; cached for 30 days; rechecked on startup if 24h passed; app: remember previously used file selector dialog path; for upload/download/addresses separate context/path; combobox: fi…

I'm also thinking about he's ACL allowed ip addresses and what he's using. When you run WinBox for the first time on a brand new router does MT broadcast with the nework address of 192.168.88.0/16 Is he using any allowed ip address list for WinBox service it self. /ip service set telnet disable…

This debate is getting ridiculous. Of course WinBox works without an Internet connection. When completely offline (no Internet connection, DNS caches cleared, etc.), WinBox logs the following messages in its console: APP,ROSTAGS,ERR: fetch error "Host upgrade.mikrotik.com not found" QNetworkReply:…

[image] infabo: For some reason, @sciensys still refuses to accept that the issue is specific to his environment. It seems he simply doesn't want to admit that possibility. Like I said. There's something goof going on, on he's network. I'm not debating on that @infabo if that comment was refe…

The scientisystist has a computer in a network in which dns is fully functional resolving domains out of his intranet but he decided for some reason to drop the traffic via a reject firewall rule (my best guess), his version of "sekur" no internet isolated network. WinBox probably shows that reject…

[image] wfbuton: I'm not debating on that @infabo if that comment was referring to me. It was not targeted at you. It is simple as that: [image] pe1chl: He only wants to make a row There has been a "err" before, reported by another user: see WinBox v4.0.1 released! - #240 by costi

Regardless of how wrong his network setup may or may not be, Winbox should never ever block access to the router because of it, with a useless/unrelated error message no less. I don't get the debate here. Is this so weird for someone to ask? Or better yet, that behavior was not present in Winbox3.…

[image] Cha0s: I don't get the debate here. Is this so weird for someone to ask? No, it is not weird to ask. You probably missed: [image] sciensys: If I'd wanted to properly file a report, I'd have done so long ago @sciensys kept insisting that Winbox developer deny access to his rout…

Normal apps always have the ability to completely turn off any automatic internet connections without user permission, like checking for updates and so on. It's not about WB4 obviously.

Indeed. I can't name an app which has "check for updates" functionality without a setting to turn it off. It always come together. But then there is Winning Box 4 :upside_down_face:

I've tried to replicate this. I've set a reject rule for that domain, nothing weird is going on. No notification of update, no error, can login without a problem. He probably does more than just a reject firewall rule. Some crappy hijacking to show a scary message. :upside_down_face:
