Omg, I didn’t suspect this disease has broken out into the real world ![]()
Why? WHY?
Nevermind, I don’t want to know.
These traffic lights are perfectly valid and make sense. Let’s please focus on helpful suggestions instead of exaggerations.
Yes, these are most likely to prevent other drivers from confusing them for the signals meant for them. I don’t think they are bad or anything, it’s just that the description reminded me of them.
Only for the record, those are “special” traffic lights for “special” users in public services ONLY (trams, buses and also taxis in some countries) they are intentionally very different from “common” traffic lights.
An Italian example:
https://www.tramditorino.it/semaforo_tranviario.htm
Particularly the center (yellow, triangular) light of these traffic lights is very important as it generally lights up much earlier than the corresponding yellow of normal traffic lights as a tram (not so much a bus) may have much longer braking distance/time.
The common critique has traditionally been that these public drivers will get the habit of only looking at these traffic lights and ignore the “normal” ones when driving their own car, but since if there is not such a special traffic light the public drivers must anyway respect the normal ones, it doesn’t cause issues in practice.
What’s new in 4.0beta26:
- files: add support for downloading directory from Files table
- also fix downloading file without adding it in subdirectory
- files: fix uploading empty file to RouterOS
- form: restore “New…” title for objects which are being added
- form: accept enter key on action type of panels (Start/Stop)
- graphs: rewrite graphs drawing to new engine which uses GPU rendering
- uses less CPU
- renders better quality fonts
- dropping dependency reduced executable size by ~10MiB
- graphs: implement Y axis max value back scaling
- graphs: show latest curve values, show values on mouse hover
- also freeze graph updating while mouse is pressed
- table: add multi-column sorting (add secondary sorts with Shift+click)
- table: add support for column auto resize with seperator double click
- table: fix unnecessary column resize when clicking on separator, but not yet moving mouse
- also fix first ignored click on header after column resize
- table: fix updating records in some very rare cases
- seems to be affected only by new File handler
- table: fix missing port field filter (for IP:port type of fields)
- ui: fix app update “Release notes” text clipping
- ui: fix render quality on some global popups, because it were positioned on decimal coordinates
- ui: fix missing field borders in table filter panel in dark mode
- ui: fix text clipping in Resources panel for CPU field when value is “100 %”
- ui: prevent selecting disabled record in combobox with Space key
- e.g. selecting disabled RoMON Neighbors in Login panel
- ui: disable font ligatures for regular font
- ui: update style of read-only checkbox
- widgets: trim text when pasting into one-line type widget fields
- remove debug print when selecting record in Saved table (also printed user password)
- add clear button in Login panel for RoMON agent field
Thanks! That is great!
Would it also be possible to add some code for initial column-width setting for windows opened for the first time?
I mean: either to have a better column width for the data typically found in a column, or to do an automatic column with setting on all columns when the window is first opened.
(or maybe even every time a new window is opened)
It would save a lot of tweaking of column width settings…
Maybe a single widget in a window that does “auto set all column widths and set window width to accommodate all columns”?
Updated the list of known issues (~6 fixes, not bad

Add ‘…’ to ‘New’ buttons that open a new dialog. 3 dots mean, that the button will open a new dialog (if your designers don’t know about it). And if a ‘New’ button is opening dropdown list, it should have an arrow.
Great improvement. The only thing that should be changed, is that only currently visible items should be taken into account, when calculating column width, not a whole table.
Not fully fixed, added clarification in the list of known issues (paragraph 18).
Overall, good release, thank you.
Why the popup light in dark mode and dark in light mode? It looks so out of place.

** table: add multi-column sorting (add secondary sorts with Shift+click)*
** table: add support for column auto resize with seperator double click*
was there any similar feature added, very similar to this one
It is currently implemented in the same way as in MS Excel where all values of a column (and not only visible) are taken into account and many people got used to such behavior. I would not change anything here. It is perfect!
I don’t know how do you know who got used to what, but Windows ListView calculates only visible items, so others may be got used to it too. Calculating text width for all records it negative on performance, when there are lots of them.
That is not a problem at all, it is an on-demand function that of course happens only locally. When it is too slow for you, do not use it or get a new computer.
I am happy with this function as it is, and in fact I would like to see a function to do this for all columns and also change the width of the window.
or get a new computer
Oh, let’s stop this bullshit.
Regarding all columns +1.
Windows ListView calculates only visible items
This is simply not true, and my WinForms test application with the ListView control proves it ![]()
Anyway, whether it takes into account only visible or all columns, auto-resize is already a big improvement.
This is simply not true,
Just open some big folder in Windows Explorer (system32 for example), choose ‘Details’ view and try it ![]()
A key feature that I don’t see in version 4.x but is available in for 3.4x is that I can export and import my configurations (list of devices and credentials) so in case that I have to reformat my laptop or deploy it on another computer I just export / import and done.
You can just copy the information that all exists in a directory somewhere under your home.
(depending on the OS)
Thanks, that’s a hack. On Mac I don’t think is that easy but even still I am looking to have the same functionality that in version 3.x, so it doesn’t feel as a downgrade when finally the version 3.x is decommissioned and we all get forced to use version 4.x
That’s why I want to post here my question so Mikrotik can take note and work on this feature on a future release.
Great job on release 26…
- still no text wrap on log view
- right click isn’t used for common tasks…
